I’m not a huge fan of either of these new paintings of mine, but they both represent first efforts with techniques or materials that are new to me, and therefore are forebears of work to come. Above, I had never used Aquabord (see here) which handles very differently, and below I hadn’t before incorporated pen and ink into an abstract painting. Regardless of the effectiveness of these two specific pieces, I’ll be exploring both of these avenues further. I learned a lot and have a flood of new ideas!
