This is the first Connecticut Pastel Society show that I have been in. I look forward to doing more with this group in the future, and I was surprised to learn that there are over 600 members!
I’ve wanted to paint this since taking a photo of this scene of ice and fog early one fall day along the Housatonic river.
This painting titled From Storm into Sunshine is done in soft pastel on an 8”x 10” archival sanded board.
I finished this pastel landscape yesterday. It is of an early Sunday morning about six weeks ago at the entrance to our quarry swimming hole, when the sun was sparkling on the newly turning leaves.
