Catch Me if You Can

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this Steven Spielberg film; we award it five stars. It has it all. It is engrossing, funny, serious, entertaining, unnerving, fast-paced, sad, incredible and redemptive, all wrapped up in a beautifully done period (60’s) cops and robbers drama, based on a true story. On one level it is a gripping tale about chasing down and ensnaring a perpetrator of fraud, on another level it strings together a deeper message about mankind’s hardwired craving for authenticity and connection. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, and Charlie Sheen are all wonderful in this. I never heard of it when it was out in the theaters in 2002, but I’m sure glad my local library had it for check-out and that we saw it. (My husband even called it “marvelous!” which I can tell you is rare…) Next time you’re looking for a good video with broad appeal, catch this one!
