September Hike Photos from Huntington 2021

Here are my hike photos from the last month of traipsing my local state park.

The colors are staring to change, get more burnished, more saturated blues in the sky. A few leaves are starting to turn, very fragrant wild grapes are on the vine, and bristled chestnuts are ripening to fall and burst open to reveal their smooth treasures inside. The fields are filled with goldenrod, asters, milkweed, and butterflies. Muddy turtles amble by. Sentinel trees and well trod paths  preside over it all. I love it!

Follow me around through the photos on this post as I revel in my local nature.

  1. Stunning photos, Polly! I would not expect anything less from you. Any idea as to what the creature is in the 11th frame from the top?
