Defining Consecration

Consecration is the consistent effort to be good, while remembering that our goodness is not born of our own striving. Consecration is not of ourselves, and it is distinct from self-righteousness. Rather, it is the delight found in loving, embracing, focusing on, and being committed to all good.  Since God is the source of everything good, we are blessed by acknowledging God’s wonderful attributes and qualities everywhere. Therefore, consecration is about exalting in God’s righteousness and not our own. When we do that, our happiness and usefulness launches, diversifies, flourishes, and increases. Even though consecration is totally about humility, it is not about the submergence of self. Expressing more and more of the divine, instead of trying to assert yourself, you ironically expand into the fuller manifestation of your most truly fabulous, most inherently intrinsic, uniquely authentic self. Consecration is about whole-hearted devotion, and reveling the joy to be found by cherishing Principle and Soul in every moment, giving ourselves completely over to what we love. Jesus was a terrific example of this dedication, as well as the healing power that comes from reflecting God’s virtues, instead of trying to manufacture our own.

what is consecration?

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
