What does it mean to say, “infinite supply that is right here at hand? ”

It refers to spiritual qualities and attributes that we reflect. A reflection doesn’t require effort. Does the reflection on the lake or the mirror try? No, it just is. It reflects because it is designed to do that. So are you.

You already are God’s infinite spiritual reflection, no need for toil. You already have every God-like quality that can be brought to bear in any situation.  Did Jesus toil to feed the 5000? No. He just knew they had everything they needed.

The homeless man has everything he needs too, but doesn’t experience it because of a lot of mud on the mirror, or wind on the lake, whichever metaphor you prefer. We must remove the suggested impositions the world would impose to cover up or interrupt our full reflection.

We need to practice keeping our mirror so very shiny, with what Mary Baker Eddy calls “the universal solvent of Love,” so God’s will flows through you by reflection.  I find it works best by cultivating Godlike qualities and attributes all the time. They are already there, I don’t make them true, but I have to choose to utilize them, i.e. put them into practice.

The first step is knowing you have and can express all of God’s qualities and attributes by design, but then you must do it.  Don’t skip that later step.

Divine Love is meeting our human needs, but do we ask for more, when God is already pouring forth more than we use or accept? Stop looking at things through personal sense– that’s just mud on the mirror or wind on the lake! Instead, think about what God’s benevolent will is for you. What is God doing regarding you?

Eddy also says, “Rest assured, that He in whom dwelleth all life, health and holiness, will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.” (My 186)  And consider this quote: “The Psalmist saith: ‘He shall give His angels charge over thee.’ God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for to-morrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment. What a glorious inheritance is given to us through the understanding of omnipresent Love! More we cannot ask: more we do not want: more we cannot have. This sweet assurance is the “Peace, be still” to all human fears, to suffering of every sort.” (Misc p. 306) Also I love this idea: “gratitude is riches,” which is consciousness, but not effort.

So it is not about work or making anything true, but rather, noticing, accepting, and practicing receptivity and gratitude for what already is true. We can do that!
