Health is a Constant
We think health is a variable,
depending on genetics,
diet and exercise,
exposure, safety,
injury, age, and chance.
But spiritually,
health is an idea,
a quality and attribute
given by God, like peace
justice, benevolence, and joy.
We think of these things
as having conditions attached,
environmental prompts
that they respond to,
instead of existing empirically.
But they occur as ideas themselves
beyond how we utilize them.
The word “health”
from its earliest derivations,
means “whole.” God is that,
and we are too, since as effect
we automatically
express the Source.
So health is a constant, a given,
not a variable after all,
vulnerable and quixotic,
not a chameleon
to be buffeted to and fro
by whim, situation, or fear.
Health is non-optional.
It is a bulwark of our make-up,
a raison d’etre of our being
a baseline, a bedrock,
a strong, inviolate aspect
of our innate equation.
Health is our birthright,
durably integral to our identity,
a champion of our larger purpose,
to reflect and manifest Godlikeness,
without breach, lapse, or trespass.
Own this prime quality,
undefiled and pristine,
like you would defend your honor
against marauders and brigands.
See this bequeathed,
impartial nature
safe and continuously stable
in each other too, like in
the greeting, Namaste,
sweetly exchanging
a deep bond of calm.
The more we know this firm,
steady, universal health
to be ours, regardless
of the world’s calumniation,
the greater a silently
enabling partner it can be,
resolving whatever assails,
smoothly handling our problems,
and getting all our answers
to come out right.

Thank you Polly. This is wonderful! Especially loved this…..
