Day 27: A Visit to Anne of Green Gables

Day 27: A Visit to Anne of Green Gables

It was fun to visit Anne of Green Gables’ house here in Prince Edward’s Island. Included in these photos is some of the info I thought interesting about the author L.M. Montgomery, as well as a view of the house tour. It is interesting that this has been part of the National Park service since the 30’s. And because of a story of a plucky girl, many millions have visited these rooms, almost as on a pilgrimage. It is because of that book (which was rejected by five publishers) that this area has caught the imagination of so many. Indeed one can see why she loved it so. How many other authors have inspired so much tourism? Now I want to read the books again, and see the movie version again that I recommend starring Megan Fellows as Anne.

Thanks for sharing your visit to Anne of Green Gables! I remember getting it from the big Cenral Library in Bristol, U.K., when I was a child and really enjoying it. I’d like to reread it too.
Going to that Library with my Dad and my sister was a great Saturday treat, thanks for reminding me of those happy times!
What a wonderful trip you two are sharing with us all, so happy to be tagging along with you both.

Looks like a wonderful place and a wonderful visit! Curious, have you seen the reboot TV show on Netflix? (“Anne with an E”) My mom and I really enjoyed watching it together! There are 2 seasons, and I believe a 3rd is coming. Highly recommend!

We have not seen that yet. It is hard to see any other Anne than Megan Fellows, but if you recommend it, we’ll give it a try.
