English Lake District Day 2 (Hike to Castlerigg Standing Stones)

Hike to Castlerigg Standing Stones

We had a lovely day hiking to the Castlerigg Standing Stones, which are 5,000 years old, much older than Stonehenge. The views and bucolic scenery were gorgeous. After reading the book I reviewed yesterday, seeing all the sheep in their meadows was particularly wonderful.

In these photos, you can follow along on our walk out of Keswick into the fields and beyond to the standing stones. The weather was stunning, and we were so grateful for this fun time in this glorious place.
