I just started an online class with Take Two about using handwriting as texture (titled “TEXTure” – isn’t that brilliant?) so I took some time to peruse the student work on their website. I liked what I saw, so I included my favorite images in this post, scattered with quotes from their exhibition bulletins. I find it instructive to look at a lot of art and notice what you gravitate to.
To credit the artists on this posts, you can find their work and more here on their student exhibition tab. You may also like to hear some of their Friday Featured Artist posts, which are available both on Youtube and in podcast form, and is how I became acquainted with Take Two initially. Interestingly, both teachers and students seems to be women, with a few exceptions as featured artists. Also, Take Two seems to be truly international, while apparently based in Australia.
Meanwhile, enjoy all the beauty, creativity, and heart shared in this post, focusing on fiber, mixed media, nature and abstraction. I’ll let you know how the class goes (it is self-paced through May).
