I’m so delighted to have my work selected to be in this lovely show at the William Benton Museum of Art at the University of Connecticut. This national show was juried by the museum– and my painting was one of few chosen from a large number of entrants. Their gallery space is beautiful, with every painting well lit.
My painting is titled Water, Snow, and Air: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and is 19″x25″ and done in pastel over acrylic. It is about how inescapable and natural diversity, equity, and inclusion are, since they are interwoven by design into all of nature. It is a conceptual piece, painted to represent this idea. (Click this link here to see it closer on this blog and to get links to purchase the original or to get merchandise of it.)
The show opened last Friday evening with a pretty sizable crowd. I always have fun watching people study my work, and I photographed a few of those pondering it below, along with my favorites from the show. Also you can see what was awarded best of show (second to last below), which alas, was not a favorite.
This show is open until July 27, so stop by and visit if you can. You can see the hours in the poster above.
