While I was in London, I enjoyed seeing the exhibit of Kandinsky and his friends at the Tate Modern, and then taking in the Courthauld’s collection of impressionists. In this post below, you can see what I liked best. I was particularly inspired by Kandinsky’s early work which I had not seen before.

Thank you for sharing your energizing visit to the Tate Modern and Courthauld Galleries! The Kandinsky works are stunning! The explanations you included are fascinating and I hadn’t known about the artists’ deep spiritual searching and the Blue Riders Circle. The canvases you photographed at Courthauld are old favorites, and our family chose several large prints there to hang in our home.

The Courtauld is one of my favourite galleries and it has recently been refurbished and made more visitor friendly. The first time I visited it I was “blown away” by the wonderful Impressionist paintings that I had only seen previously in reproduction. And the gallery is not overwhelming, it truly is a little gem.
I’m glad you are enjoying some of my favourite places! X -
Thank you for including the Blue Rider commentary. Very interesting, and I like a lot of the artwork. As for the Courthauld, it is one of my favorite museums.
