Student Work from Workshop I Taught Yesterday

Student Work from Workshop I Taught Yesterday

I taught Abstract Expressionism and Abstract Conceptualism to a small group of artists yesterday in Manchester Connecticut. They worked hard with some difficult prompts. Below, you can see some of their work.

Here is some of what they said about their experience:

  • It is above all fun and freeing!
  • I now appreciate abstract art more, and will look for things I didn’t know to look for before.
  • There was a lot of JOY!
  • I was encouraged to think more broadly about abstract art and to be more aware of the different kinds.
  • This was a good way to learn to understand the hows and whys.
  • The pace was just right.
  • Abstract art now is less mysterious.
  • Your joy is contagious!
  • It was good to try to think about how to show my feeling about a subject.
  • I have a new appreciation for what goes into abstract art
  • The critiques after each exercise were great.
  • Causes growth!

It was a delight to be with them!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Fun to see these paintings on my computer where everything is bright and well defined. I’m seeing all sorts of things I missed. Thank you again for a lovely , instructive workshop. I felt totally elevated all evening long. There’s definitely a marvelous vibe that comes from spending time with you.
