Annual Meeting 2026

Yesterday we were in Boston for our church’s yearly annual meeting. Some years this has been a big three day affair, but this year we drove the three hours up and back the same day, having lunch before the meeting at Flour Bakery, and dinner afterwards at Atlantic Fish.

It was great to see friends, and pray the Lord’s Prayer together with so many people in such an acoustic place. The theme was being “the light of the world,” which is so needed.

Here are some sound bites:

  • “I love coming here because I feel listened to and I feel loved.”
  • “Life is not dependent of heart; heart is dependent on Life.”
  • “Loving God I can do on my own, but to love my neighbor I need to be with him.”
  • “Focus on those activities that are the most essential.”
  • “Love is the refuge.”
  • “Everywhere the sun looks it only sees light. Be like that.”
  • “We cannot hold onto darkness and darkness cannot hold onto us.”
  • “‘Arise and shine.’ We are made to shine. Bright lights glorify God.”

I would add that we should not hide our light under the bushel, where it will suffocate and go out. We are not protecting it there. The safest place for your light is on a candlestick where it thrives in lots of oxygen, and it blesses lots of people. Let your light shine so unencumbered!

Enjoy the photos below of a lovely day.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. We guessed you were there but didn’t spot you in the congregation this time!
Yes it was very inspiring even though we joined you all remotely.
