This third out of four paintings, which I did during my artist-in-residency, aims to capture that special kind of light in the forest during August, that shimmers against the dense depths. Titled August Light, it is 30″x40″ and done in acrylic, with handmade collage papers.

Looking closely there is a lot of printed texture here, that makes this work very diverse even though it utilizes an “all over” design motif. Also interesting is the gold leaf effect that is especially pronounced in lower lighting conditions.

Now that it is September, the light has radically changed!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
