Four Small Works from January

Four Small Works from January

Small Works from January

Here are some small works I’ve done this month.  The one above I like best. The first two below are of the same scene, but in two different media, acrylic then watercolor crayon. The bottom one is a doodle I did during a zoom call.

Mostly, I’ve just been too pre-occupied to paint.  Even when you are busy, as I have been this month professionally, I recommend keeping your hand in it by working small. Then when you get a chance to go larger again, your juices are still flowing. I’ve got all sorts of painting plans for February!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. The top one is my favorite too. The 2 landscapes remind me of a show I saw about the prairies and the deep roots of prairie grasses. I doubt that’s what you were drawing, but somehow made me think of that. Deeply rooted, and grounded, strong, great reminder. Good to see what you are up to. ❤️

We don’t call it prairie here, but definitely meadow… Missing you!

I was in a Santa Cruz art store yesterday (SC is listed as having the fifth Most Working Artists in the US! —Not sure this is the exact title, but you get it)
Anyway, boy did I think of YOU while in there, Polly! A smallish store, jam-packed with the Real art materials…no fluff… These materials are NOT CHEAP! I know you appreciate donations to keep this blog goin’, so here’s a plug for you! (Pastel chalks are especially $$$!)
(p.s. Your painting, above, on the bottom, is what my Thinking feels like, some of the time! Haha!)
