Here are four paintings I did in 2020, that had not yet made it onto the blog:

Sometimes when praying for justice, we feel like we are flapping in the wind, vulnerable to the fickle fluctuations around us, and we need to focus and remember that justice is a divine, ever-present quality, and omnipotent law. That’s what the 11″x14″ acrylic painting above, titled Praying for Justice, is about.

As in any situation or conundrum, first you need to sort out the pieces, then you’ll get resolution and clarity. That is what the first painting below, titled Sorting Out the Pieces, is about. It is 15″x22″ and done in pastel.

Last February, on a balmy day in Putnam Park, I was struck by the color contrasts and the textures. The 8″x10″ pastel painting below by that name was the result.

Euphoria, effervescently scattered and ungrappled with, is difficult to utilize. Tempered at bit, it settles into deep set, foundational joy– not restrained so much as just made practical. That is what the bottom 12″x12″ acrylic painting, titled Tempered Euphoria, is about.

I look forward to seeing what I paint in 2021!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
