When we got home from Vermont on Friday, we were in the mood for a sweet film to round out our week away, before delving full steam back into life here at home. I keep an ongoing list of movies recommended me, and this one dates back to 2016. I’m glad we didn’t miss seeing it. It is a hidden gem that should be considered a classic. We enjoyed very much.
A precise and orderly young woman, who lives alone and works shelving books in a library, is an aspiring writer. When she meets her curmudgeon neighbor, her world quickly shifts. Three men are involved, as well as ducks, unlikely inventions, food, twins, horticulture, and eventually wholesale transformation. It is wonderful to watch people blossom.
When you want something endearing, undemanding, warm, quirky, and charming, I recommend this film. We saw it on Amazon Prime. I’d be happy to see it all over again, and give it a gentle, but solid five stars.

I am an avid gardener, here on our one-plus hillside acre of mainly Live Oak trees
in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California. So, any film about gardens, gardeners, etc. are a hit.We saw the documentary “BUCK,” a few nights ago on AMC . Really appreciate the lessons
learned in how to relate to people, children in particular, although this is about Buck the Horse Trainer/Whisperer! Fine film.And I assume you have seen My Octopus Teacher by now. It’s whipping around the net.
The BEST!! Also a documentary. The photography is beyond great. And Octopuses are truly amazing animals.TG for good films, especially while so confined. Glad, glad you had a great time in lovely Vermont!
