It’s Not About the Church Building (pastel) by Polly Castor

I quoted Picasso last week saying, “If I could put it in words, there would be no need to paint it.” This rough, passionate painting falls into that category. When asked what I want church to be, it is hard to put into words. Energy, power, light, God’s presence, awe. This painting does a better job than those words, don’t you think?

It is available for sale, but as we’re entering day six with no power, I can’t post them properly on my phone. So hopefully within the week I’ll change this post to have links to the original and merchandise, as well as better photos.
