Two New Sgraffito Pottery Plates out of the Kiln

The above plate I made for a friend and blog reader in British Columbia. She is a weaver (check out her website) of linen and natural fibers so I knew she’d like a quieter more subtle palate that my usual blazingly colorful one. I’m grateful she liked her plate. She and sent me a fun text (a photo of her with the plate) that I include below.

The square “salmon salad plate” shown below is to go with the two other ones that I gave to my husband for his present last Christmas, and I already have a fourth one ready for the next firing. Each one of the four is the same shape and design, but in a different color way. I’m not sure how many I’m aiming for in this set altogether, but meanwhile, I’m open to taking commissions on them if you want one (or more). Now is a good time to order for Christmas, since I’ve got a lot of other things going on…

Other surprise works are unfolding this spring in the pottery studio, so stay tuned!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
