Movie Review: Saving Mr. Banks

We finally got around to watching this 2013 movie and loved it. It is the story of the making of Mary Poppins, with Tom Hanks as Walt Disney, and Emma Thompson as the author of the book. She is reluctant to sign away her rights to the film and gets involved in the making of the movie to see if she can approve of it. There are flashbacks to her childhood, and you understand better the source of both her imagination and her current day feelings. I have always liked Emma Thompson, but this is her at her best. We give this film 5 stars. Now we want to rewatch Mary Poppins!

I watched a movie about the author of Mary Poppins on Curiosity Stream. There are interviews with the author and it goes to great depths to uncover the incredibly interesting life of this fiercely private woman. I highly recommend that too.
