Movie Review Risen

I liked this movie much more than I expected to. It is the story from the crucifixion through to the ascension, from a Roman soldier’s point of view. As with all movies, they took some liberties from the book version of the story, and we could pick on details like how many disciples were actually on the boat fishing on the Galilean sea, etc. But even with all the conjecture interspersed in this, the mood felt right, and the settings of the times were believable. The main character did a wonderful job, and Jesus was cast well. It is amazing we are still here talking about it 2000 years later because of that ragtag group of followers. You might enjoy this film, I give it 4 stars.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
