New Poem: Family Tree

family tree poem

Family Tree

Looking out at the January twigs
reaching far and wide, I muse that
being apart is part of being together.
Branches naturally aim in diverse directions
seemingly away from each other
like extended orbs in separate universes
each outstretched in a realm of their own:
our kids return to college and work
and the house is quiet again after the holidays–
ancestors also– thrive in the unseen beyond,
while still deep in my roots, my heart, my thoughts.
Oneness and distance are all muddled up and merging
in the ever-present infinity of Love.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
