I came here for mountains, but my new appreciation is for the water in all its variations. The remarkable pool color water comes from silt they call “mountain flour” which changes how light refracts off of it, creating every hue from celadon to emerald, with a lot of turquoise and teal in between. So no, none of these have been photoshopped as so many of you have asked; these are naturally occurring colors. Other water here reflects sky, mountains, or trees, all changed again by the breeze. In this post are a lot (actually just a fraction) of the water photos I took here in the Canadian Rockies. Also in several, see how clear the water is, showing right through to the rocks at the bottom. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

You are to be praised for lifting us out of our asphalt bondage into the wild freedom of one of God’s
many playgrounds. Joe -
