I overheard a conversation of two moms that had 14 and 16 year old daughters. They were talking about running out of good reading material for them, and they were particularly interested in strong female characters, which is our youngest’s favorite kind. I got drawn into this conversation, and when they heard my daughter was 17 and a reader too, they asked me to ask her for a list, giving me an email so I could send it to them.
Since my daughter easily provided me a list for them, I thought I might as well share it with all of you too, since you may know teen girls looking for something to read too. Our daughter’s favorite genre is about girls that “wield deadly archaic weapons,” so most of these are fantasy, but some are not. Meanwhile, I hope those ladies find something here that their daughters haven’t read and will enjoy!
