Paul Trowbridge’s newest painting shown above (and seen here) titled Dock Workers, reminded me I had a bunch of photos from last fall I hadn’t yet edited from a scene very similar.
Mine were taken dockside at the Young’s Lobster Pound in Belfast Maine, and I focused much more on the family run boat and the majestic crustaceans than the action on the dock, but the painting above was so evocative of the day I took these photos that I had to unearth my own images.
So today here my photos of the lobstermen with their catch and tomorrow I’ll show you my photos from inside the pound itself.
And in the bottom photo I include a photo of a wonderful picture book that was one of our kid’s favorites; I recommend it. Also you can see my previous post of Paul’s artwork here.
As we try to think spring with snow flurries in the air it is fun to revisit the end of summer! Enjoy…
