Around the sun once more!

I had a pleasant and low key birthday today, most of which was spent in my usual routine.  However, I was indulged with a gougere for breakfast, a special occasion favorite of mine.  And since my husband had a dinner meeting to go to, he took me out to lunch for a favorite salad of mine at the Southwest Cafe: salmon on arugula with mango, jicama and avocado.  Yum!  Both my sisters sent nice cards and gifts and my husband gave me three wonderful professional quality chef’s knives (that he got at Costco) to replace what I’ve been using for thirty years, along with a sharpening rod to keep them dreamy.  Cutting a lemon is now like putting a hot knife through butter! Wow.
