I took these photos in two different spots.  The tightly closed wet ones were taken this morning before a breakfast meeting with early sun after last night’s rain.  The wide open ones I took this afternoon.  Totally delighted when I saw them basking in the sun several blocks from here, I screeched my day to a halt in order to appreciate them. 

When requesting permission from the owner on the porch to photograph them, she couldn’t have been prouder that I would want to. A very pleasant conversation ensued, and I learned that these crocus’ are very old in this spot.  Spring has sprouted!  I even heard frogs for the first time today…
