Surmounting (pastel) by Polly Castor

Sometimes the way is steep and daunting. Often there are big obstacles in the way. This painting is about surmounting, and is titled that. We can find ways around, and even if our course is zig zagged, with challenging switchbacks, we can overcome, get above and beyond, and see a better view. This painting is about hope, and after effort and persistence, triumph.

It is large, 20″x30″and done in pastel. It is available for sale in my current one woman show in Southington through the end of the month. You can get prints or merchandise with it here in my gallery.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
