In anticipation of Mother’s Day, I read a book about Emil Nolde, who was a favorite artist of my mother’s. She loved his intuitive spontaneity and sense of freedom. In this post are some of his female faces that I photographed from that book. The last photo is an “about face” (pardon the pun), but I thought it too wonderful not to include. Enjoy!
