I’m not a big fan of time travel stories, so when that happened in this book, which I got off the new book shelf at my library, I almost stopped reading it. I’m glad I didn’t. As problematic as time travel is, the father/daughter love story here, and the decades spanning interracial friendship interwoven through it, made This Time Tomorrow worth the read.
The moral takeaway here is to make good choices and appreciate with full mindfulness the time you have with those you love. I can totally get behind that sentiment. Do we need time travel to learn these lessons? No.
However, it was fun to be back in the New York City of the nineties, when I spent so much time there. And I’ve not read this author before, but her writing was good, and minus the time travel trope, I’d like to read her again. I give this book four stars.
