Cornell 7 and Rape Culture (Bits and Clips)

Cornell 7 Bits and Clips

A week ago I posted a sad poem about so many Jane Does as a response to the appalling news of the Cornell 7 gang rape of an unconscious girl.  All week I have thought it was an insufficient response.

Since then, I’ve seen more useful content that is worth sharing, and I didn’t want to carry this until the end of the month until our usual bits and clips time.

I found these short Instagram clips to be pertinent responses. I think they are worth your time:

Men We are Complicit

Dads please teach your sons

Fresh take on Cornell 7 from a Jane Doe

On Protecting Women

This is how a pastor responds

No baby boy is born thinking it is okay to hurt a woman

Mother’s take: same trail; same sport

If we treated every crime like sexual assault

It is on us to create a different world.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
