The Art of Victory (Book Review)

Recently, I listened to this on some of my walks, and I enjoyed all the banter between the main characters.

Diana, who was brought up by her Admiral father aboard a ship, lives her life based on what Sun Tzu says in the battle classic The Art of War. So she thinks she is prepared to take on her best friend’s guardian, to get him to allow his ward (her friend) to marry the man she chooses. But the guardian ends up being younger and more handsome than anticipated, as well as more than a match for Diana’s every maneuver.

It turns out this book is part of a series where each of her brothers meet their destinies as well. I liked this enough that I’ll probably cycle back around to read those as well.

You too might enjoy this clean clash of wits, which results in a fun read, as well as a relationship of believable substance. This book strikes that rare balance of being light without being vapid. Such a sweet spot!

I give The Art of Victory four stars.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
