The Perfect Loaf (Cookbook Review)

The Perfect Loaf book review

Since you asked after seeing my husband’s fabulous sourdough (I am reposting the photo below), The Perfect Loaf  is the book that has helped him. After a houseguest this spring brought us some of her starter, he’s been making fabulous crackers (see the recipe here) and now after reading the rather extensive explanations in this book, made the best bread I’ve ever eaten.

They recommend making that base recipe several times before going on to the many wonderful looking recipes in the second half of the book: burger buns, sprouted spelt sandwich loaves, cranberry walnut bread, or cinnamon buns to name a few. And the photography is very enticing, as well as helpfully showing steps.

If you are looking for a thorough book for all things sourdough, there are a bewilderingly plethora on the market. However, after shopping carefully and gifting my husband this one, we are finding it has made a major (and amazing!) difference in the baked product. I hope you give it a try.
