Friendship a Witness
It is such a privilege
to deeply see you
come to understand you,
and bask in your presence.
More than just
camaraderie and companionship
–which I adore–
also I get to be seen too,
my essence shared
in your discerning presence–
such a mutual witness
highlighting and confirming
our solitary, infinite Source.
We enjoy a common baseline
of virtue boomeranging
back and forth and between–
like mirrors facing each other,
amplifying eternity.
It is so sustaining
to walk with you
believe in you, hear you
and to accompany you,
however briefly, and to feel
noticed and discovered as well.
With our reciprocal observing,
each of our singular existences
are validated and enhanced.
Imagine this corroboration
replicating itself
in a web of connection
the world over.
Peace would bloom
from reverberations of love,
built on foundations of
perception, appreciation,
admiration, acceptance,
and approval,
bouncing to and fro,
like an avid conversation,
supporting and magnifying
the identity of each individual
in this portrayal of rapport.
Everyone needs sincere friends
to witness all that is
true and good about them
and to reflect that faithfully
and repeatedly back,
sometimes even seeing us
better than we see ourselves.
Have you done this
for someone today?
