We had our first breakfast on the boat, and since we were docked in front of the Castle in Bodrum, we toured it in the morning. This included the underwater archeological museum, where they displayed what they’ve recovered from shipwrecks in the area. Then we saw what was left of Halicarnassus, which was one of the seven wonders of the world, but now mostly resides at the British Museum.
We had a wonderful traditional lunch on the terrace floor made by the family who sold the rugs, and then we bought two Turkish rugs, a small one for our entry way, and a larger one for our guest room (see above). It was fun that my husband and I had complete mutual clarity and agreement on these choices. Others purchased rugs too.
We returned to the boat via dingy, and met our nephew’s baby for the first time. Such a sweetie! They arrived late after multiple excruciating days of flight delays (with an infant!), and remarkably managed to arrive in still in good cheer. We are finally all together. So grateful!
