Here are two edifying picture books for kids. I’m giving them to my four year old great-nephew for Christmas. The messages are thought provoking and useful, but they are still fun.
The Make Your Bed with Skipper the Seal book is a children’s version of Admiral William H. McRaven’s bestselling book: Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life. Apparently, when he gave a graduation speech, many parents said that kids needed this message when they were younger and that he should write a children’s book. He listened, and here is the brand new, enjoyable result.
The book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids is older, but no less worthy. It teaches kids how to be fulfilled and happy, in a constructive, lighthearted way. I’m not the only one who likes it. Our kids did, and it has received many awards.
I thought you too might want to give these enlightening books to the young people in your life. They and their parents will be glad you did.
