Suddenly, I am in London! I got home from my annual painting trip with friends to Monhegan Island at 11pm, and the next morning, at 4am, we left for England!
We went because my husband was being flown over to give a talk on the Bible in London, so I tagged along, and we are making a vacation out of it. And you’ll get to follow along on the blog! I am SO VERY GRATEFUL for these wonderful opportunities.
In these photos, you can see my 20,000 steps around London, while he was busy, plus us getting together with friends (those zucchini frites were wonderful!), as well as our niece and her cat, Gandalf, who we’ve heard about for so long but have never met. We are spending three days in London before renting a car and heading to more remote hiking in northern England.
I love travel, cherishing the new views, the joy, and the discovery. My husband and I haven’t had a trip with just the two of us since 2009 when we went to Block Island (see here on the blog) while our kids were at camp. We are thrilled to have this overdue adventure together.

Fun to see your London photos, as we were just there for a few days at the end of our Scotland in July. I am finally getting caught up on blogging about the trip, I am working on the post about our day and a half in London. I especially look forward to hearing about your time in the countryside of England.

It looks like you were at Somerset House. I hope you visited the Courtauld Gallery while you were there. As per usual, your photos are fabulous. I love London. Enjoy!
