Lately I’ve been trying some varied subject matter to tease me through this closed-in winter season. This week I tackled some memories of childhood.
The painting above, titled Childhood Imagination is 12″x18″ and done in pastel. This conceptual painting depicts an inner landscape, rather than an outward one, where everything else pales in comparison with one’s own childhood imagination.

The painting below, titled Happy Camping is also 12″x18″ and done in pastel. This painting depicts my deep love, nurtured since childhood, of camping in rugged, untrammeled land, along with the serenity that experience brings.

Memories from childhood is a fertile ground for painting ideas…

Dear Polly! I KNOW I imagined and drew that very same tree when I was a child! What a delightful memory!

Your Inner Child is obviously alive ‘n well!’
(I grew up camping, too! Vital part of my childhood!)
