We loved this feel good film about the fisherman in Cornwall singing sea shanties. The music was fabulous, and while the story was predictable, it made up for that with sheer enthusiasm. It was a pleasure to watch something highlighting people with no glitz or polish finding joy in living simple lives on the edge of the beyond.
The moral of enjoying community and homey pleasures resonates. Also, it is fun cheering for them as the world embraces their authenticity. This is a true story after all.
We saw Fisherman’s Friends on Netflix, and give it five stars. Thank you to the blog reader that recommended it to us! We were glad to see this warm hug of a movie, which lifted our pandemic weary spirits with rollicking, unpretentious, old fashioned song. You might be glad to see it too.

I enjoyed Fisherman’s Friends too. I saw it on a long haul flight last year – a real feel good movie! X
