Our Homegrown Produce Begins for 2020

Home Grown Produce Connecticut Early August

We get a lot of produce from our little third of an acre. Of particular note are the peaches and raspberries. Often walkers by on the sidewalk are stopped in their tracks, staring at the abundance right out there in front of God and everybody. Next they’ll whip out their phones and take some pictures. I understand the inclination!

Among the raspberries and peaches, other beautiful food we’ve harvested so far are kohlrabi, lettuce, arugula, mustard greens, kale, thyme, basil, dill, mint, oregano, parsley, cilantro, carrots, yellow wax beens, sugar snap peas, garlic, zucchini, and tomatoes. Lots more tomatoes are coming, along with beets and peppers.

I am so grateful for this seasonal largess, both in beauty and in practical use. From now until November, one of my jobs will be to stay one step ahead in using all these gifts of nature (and my husband’s sweat equity) in the best way.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
