Home from IAPS, with a ton of new ideas, I’ve been enjoying painting!

Here is Breaking Through, my 15″x 22″ new abstract painting in pastel. Breaking through was a break through for me in technique, first and foremost. I love the fine stippled effect here, which was new for me in this level of detail. But while we are breaking through, we can also see all the interesting things going on beyond, taking care of the bits and shards we must get past. The fact that the composition in this piece ended up a cruciform shape, adds further to its complexity of meaning.
