Effulgence’s Advance (New Poem by Polly Castor)

Effulgence’s Advance
Dawn quietly tiptoes in
Timid, but assured to win
Hesitant and hushed,
Persistent, not rushed,
Night and day weaving
Until darkness is leaving
And this coming and going
Exchanges dimness for glowing
And the absence of light is supplanted
By a lustrous radiance ever so slanted
And as luminosity climbs in the sky
One ponders and wonders why
Night is so routinely forsaken
By invigorating brightness that awakens
Transforming each and every morning
Illuminating all without fanfare or warning
Clearly, darkness never had a chance
Given blazing effulgence’s habitual advance.
