When you step out of the car in our driveway right now you are honored by the most divine, heady scent. Many Mother’s Day’s ago, each of our three children picked out a lilac bush for me, and they are simply glorious now. Two are lavender in color, and one is more reddish. The profusion of blooms on them is just staggering.

We have taken huge bouquets of them to church both Sunday and Wednesday for two weeks in the handmade pottery vase I made specifically for that purpose. Those arrangements fill our services with such a glorious smell! Then it has been fun to send the flowers home with members and visitors. And this indulgence all around doesn’t even put a dent in the wealth of glory still by the side of my driveway.

I wish I could capture their aroma in these photos, but you’ll just have to imagine!
