Movie Review: Sully

Do you remember back in January 2009 when a passenger plane crash-landed in the Hudson River, and everyone survived? This movie is the story of that pilot on that day and soon thereafter, when he had to defend his choice to land there. This is a gripping docudrama of an upstanding man with 40 years experience making a snap decision for what was best for 155 people, and being right. His earnest humility is inspiring. The story also includes New York City’s finest– here first responders got to help in a situation that comes out well. Out of freezing January water, everyone was rescued within 24 minutes. Remarkably, the impossible seems to have been done. This film does a good job portraying it all. I give it 4 stars.
