While I have a lot of experience doing abstract art, I have not done much in soft pastel, which is a medium I have usually reserved for more representational work. This is a situation I am beginning to remedy with this 18″ x 22″ work on an archival pastel panel, titled Ascending to the Great Heart of Love.  I learned a lot doing this piece and am excited to continue in this vein, although I’ll do several things differently next time.
