I thought most of you would know about Pandora Internet Radio, but apparently this is not the case. Oh, the leg up having teenagers gives one in the technological world! Go to their website at pandora.com, register your email to start a free account, and then type in a specific song, composer, or genre you like. They will then play endless music through your computer similar to it, until you stop it or direct it to play something else.
Over Christmas, we listened to great Christmas music without the type we don’t care for. My oldest daughter is fond of asking it to play tango music. My youngest listens to techno in her earphones while she does her math and swears it helps her concentrate. Right now, I’m listening to things similar to a rendition of Pachelbell’s Canon in D that I enjoy. Somehow it cools down this sultry afternoon…
If you really like one of the selections, it shows on the window on your computer, so you’ll know what it is, if you want to learn more about it, or hear more of that. Pandora music is free, with short occasional ads, which are much less obtrusive than regular radio ads, or you can, for a small fee, get it without ads.
Check it out if you haven’t already and let it improve your quality of life as it so easily can!
Note: A blog reader responded by also recommending grooveshark.com where “you can choose any CD, song, artist, and listen in entirety. For free.” Thanks, Todd. I’ll check it out.
