I really enjoyed this book. I give it five stars even though it is neither important nor profound – just nice – because sometimes well written “nice” is just what you want. There is a separate chapter on each person in the cooking class which reveals their backstory as well as the growth and progress each makes during the course.
The teacher is warm and intuitive; the cooking descriptions are succulently wonderful and non-technical. This is a book that is about nurturing and being nourished, and I recommend it when that is what you feel you need. I found it particularly soothing during this difficult week, and I now look forward to cooking for the holidays as a loving joy. You, or someone you know, would appreciate this sweet, gentle book.
