The Painting I Painted on My Birthday

I painted this on my birthday, listening to jazz, transported to a place I’ve been that was warmer, sitting on a comfortable rock, near a babbling brook.

I can smell the wildflowers and the pines. The sun, low on the horizon, is casting interesting hues both in the sky and on the undulating rocks.
