I loved this little volume about the blessings of getting to know octopuses. I learned a lot in an effortless, narrative way. The author really cares about these creatures and you come to care as well.
It was fascinating to understand that octopuses feel, recognize, remember, solve puzzles, and respond, all without a brain as we know it. How is that possible? This book challenges our assumptions about consciousness and the sources of intelligence in an effective and captivating way.
I am looking forward to when our book club gets to Skype with the author next month. I was really impressed by her and give this book five stars. If you are up for reading something different, give this one a try!
